I served 11 July 67 to 11 July 68. I remember being trucked on an open duece & a half from Cameron Bay to the base camp in Phu bai. As we approached the camp I saw the big sign “Rendezvous With Destiny” and I was overcome with a eerie helpless feeling because those words reminded me that I may not return to home alive. We were in camp for 5 days of additional jungle training. I was assigned to 3rd Platoon. After 35 years I cannot remember many names. I do remember one of my company commander’s, his name was Capt. Johnson. One of my platoon leader was Lt. Bishop. He was a great man and everybody liked him.
