Larry Stutts MOORESVILLE Larry Rodney Stutts, 66, of Mooresville, passed from this life into his eternal reward Saturday, July 12, 2014 with his wife and children by his side. He worked for more than 30 years at Ingersoll-Rand in Davidson and the last year at Doosan Infracore International in Statesville. Larry attended N.C. State University prior to being drafted into the Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal while serving as a squad leader in Vietnam in the 101st Battalion of the 327th Infantry. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Stutts. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wanda Christie Stutts of Mooresville; children, Wendy Stutts Overcash (Walter) of Spring, Texas and Timothy Stutts (Dionne) of Mooresville; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Sarah, and Joshua Overcash of Spring, Texas, Jaden and Caleb Stutts of Mooresville. He is also survived by his mother, Marverine Benfield Stutts; and brothers, Ronnie (Nancy), Rickie (Carolyn) and Jerry (Lori) Stutts all of Mooresville. Larry was a kind and humble man who had many friends. He was a caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed his volunteer work with the Baptist Men of N.C., and participating in mission trips. He was an avid N.C. State fan and his favorite past-times included spending time with his grandchildren who called him “Pops,” singing in the church choir, outdoor projects and reading.
