John De Vous

BRAVE RIFLE Company ’65/’66

Served with “B” 1/327th and “HHC” 1/327th, 1st Brigade (Separate) Vietnam 7/65 to 6/66. Arrived at Cam Ranh on the USS General LeRoy Eltinge. Wounded at My Canh II, 2/7/66. Recovered at 8th Field Hospital, Nha Trange. I am forever grateful for the Huey crew that had the guts to come in for us, in spite of heavy NVA ground fire. The Huey was so loaded with wounded on the way outthat it struggled lifting off, all the while being pounded by NVA fire ground fire. Vietnam is forever a part of me. I wish you all the very best.
