Arrived Vietnam late 1/68 and assigned to B Co. 2 Bn / 327 Inf 1st Bgde, 101st Airborne, just in time for Tet.  Was promoted to Squad Leader of 3d Platoon, 3rd Squad within my first 6 months in country and volunteered just prior to completion of my first tour for a second tour.  Was WIA 7/69 and spent 3 months in rehab between Japan and Saint Albans Naval Hospital New York.  Reassigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg in 10/69 until honorable discharged in 7/70.  During my 3 years of service I was awarded 2 Bronze Stars, 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Army Accommodation Medal, 3 Air Medals and earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Parachute Jump Wings.  While at Fort Bragg I enrolled and completed NCO training and Raider School’s at Fort Bragg.

I’m a native New Yorker born and raised in the City and in the surrounding suburbs.  I am retired Director of Operations from a career in the commercial real estate management and construction industry where.  I’ve been married over 40 years, with 3 sons and 2 grandson, so far???  I’ve enjoyed a multitude of hobbies and sports over the years, including and never limited to, SCUBA diving (since 1970), skiing, camping and sailing.

P.S.: The attached in-country photo was taken on my last assault into the A Shau Valley.  There were several during my time in country.  So I’m not sure if my hair was standing up on edged do to the wind coming in through the doors or maybe I knew more than the guy who was taking my picture.  Maybe a little of both.
