“On the Frontlines of the Television War”

Jim & Dale and all the rest of the 327th.

Well, it’s finally finished. Yasutsune “Tony” Hirashiki’s “On the Frontlines of the Television War.” Tony, who was Japanese, was one of the two “Koreans” working for ABC News, and wrote up the story of the battle of May 13th as Chapter One in his book.

He could well have gotten some facts wrong—he barely understood English at the time—but he lays out the bravery and strength of the soldiers as we illustrated the story with color photos made from the original 50-year-old film.

Posted here is the Press Release with the first Chapter – Happy Valley.

The book can be purchased here: geni.us/hirashiki, among other places, but is not available on the web site.
